Notifications

1. Activation

Notifications are activated (or deactivated)... per device: you may want to receive notifications on your phone but not on your tablet or computer.
actually per device, it's per browser: Google Chrome and Firefox will be considered different, even if they run on the same computer.
To activate notifications, you need to:
  • start by activating notifications globally
  • authorize the browser to send you notifications
  • then choose the notifications you want to receive, one by one

2. Notifications at Fixed Time

Most notifications are linked to events (the coach reveals your sessions, ...). However, two of them are programmable at fixed time:
  • morning checkup reminder
  • evening debrief reminder
Here you must choose at what time you want to receive these daily notifications.

3. Comment Notification

If you activate notifications for each comment added on your sessions or for each comment one of your athletes adds, you can choose to filter (mute) them person by person on the coaching page.
This way you can imagine activating notifications only for certain athletes you accompany with a more advanced offer than others, for whom you prefer to look at comments only at the end of the week.

4. Comments or Messages?

Attention, even if it looks like messaging, in Slek comments are not messages:
  • a comment is attached to a context (for example a session)... and nothing guarantees that another coach won't have access to its content if the athlete adds a second coach during the season (nutritionist, mental coach, PE teacher, physiotherapist, ...)
  • a message is an exchange between two (or more) identified people. Ideally, message confidentiality is guaranteed by end-to-end encryption (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, ...). Slek does not use this encryption because it is only possible if each party has a key to encrypt/decrypt messages, which would make impossible:
    • reading comments if the key is lost or
    • a posteriori sharing (with a new coach)
We therefore advise you to put in Slek comments linked to a session, to your assessment... keeping in mind that other coaches could read them in the future. Keep any more personal exchange in your favorite messaging (appointment booking, debate where you remake the world, frank argument...).
